Funky BMW 3.0Si Touring Conversion up for sale

The BMW E9 chassis produced many great cars. The most famous of which was the BMW 3.0 CSL, thanks to its stunning good looks and racing pedigree. However, there were a few other great cars that came from the E9, one of which was far less popular than the 3.0 CSL and not nearly as good looking, the BMW 3.0Si. It was a sedan but it still had the 3.0 liter I6 engine and it was great. But what’s even more interesting is the BMW 3.0Si Touring.

According to this listing from Bring-A-Trailer, a company called Langley Motors custom made around 10 or 12 wagon conversions of the BMW 3.0Si, called the Touring. Essentially, Langley Motors took the sedan and converted it into a wagon and it looks very interesting. While not pretty, it’s kind of cool and fun. It’s not a perfect conversion, though, as the rear quarter window isn’t perfectly done and looks a bit weird, especially with the Hofmeister Kink.

Having said that, it’s a cool and quirky car that would probably be a lot of fun to own and drive. It’s also in really good condition, so that helps. The paint looks good and there doesn’t seem to be any significant issues.

On the inside, everything looks perfect. It looks like it came right from the factory in 1976. And the blue interior with wood trim looks so perfectly ’70s.

Even under the hood, it’s perfectly clean, without an ounce of dirt, grease or grime. Which is good because we always like looking at the old-school 3.0 liter I6, which made 197 hp and feature Bosche fuel injection. Fancy back then.

While it isn’t the best looking car or the fastest or best handling, this ’76 BMW 3.0Si Touring could be great fun to drive. Imagine driving a classic BMW 3.0Si wagon with a manual gearbox?
