Photoshoot: Long Beach Blue BMW M2 By Mode Carbon

When the current generation of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 were released, there were two impeccable finishes available at launch: Austin Yellow and Yas Marina Blue. While a similar dual-colorway option wasn’t available at the M2’s release, it was, however, offered with a beautiful Long Beach Blue finish that really felt right at home for this vehicle. With time passing by, this particular finish is still considered as the best option for the color-happy owners just ordering their new small high-performance vehicle.

Upon its release, many believed the BMW M2 will be an instant classic. And they were right. The small and nimble high-performance vehicle comes with aggressive, yet classy looks, impressive performance and amazing handling abilities. The vehicle comes powered by a by a 3.0 Liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 365 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque allowing the M2 coupe to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h).

Overall, the M2 is a complete car by all means. But, for some, a more aggressive outer appeal can be achieved. Hence, some owners – like the owner of this Long Beach Blue BMW M2 – turn to the aftermarket industry to add that bit of flash to their vehicle. For this vehicle, the icing on the cake is the set of Mode Carbon aero additions, KW Suspension, an Akrapovic exhaust system and a set of BBS Wheels.

These come in form of a carbon fiber front splitter, a rear decklid spoiler, and a rear diffuser. Unlike some other parts from other carbon manufacturers, these parts combine an aggressive look and a rather clean design, making them a perfect addition to the M2. Furthermore, these parts improve the air flow in both the front and rear of the vehicle, making the car more stable in cornering and high-speed scenarios equally.

The final touch is a set of BBS FI-R wheels. These, sized 19×9.5 and 19×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively, are some of the lightest and most performance-oriented wheels on the market. The wheels come finished with a Gloss Gunmetal finish, working perfectly with the M2’s exterior, Furthermore, the BMW M2 saw the addition of a complete KW Suspension coilover system. In turn, the handling is improved while the upgrade allows the owner to fine adjust the vehicle’s right height. Finally, a complete Akrapovic exhaust system was installed.

Some purists will shy away from builds like these, but we like it. Grab a quick look at the complete build gallery, with two different sets of wheels, right below.
